Just yourself, Dave. You're the guest of honor this time cause you are traveling the farthest.

I've been drilling pegholes using the Sylvan Wells jig and have it set up. Does everyone already know how to do this or would it be worth anyone's time for me to demonstrate?
If no one wants to see it, I will get it out of the way.

I wouldn't mind taking a look at it Ron. I think I know how it works but would welcome the opportunity to see it in person.

Okay, go to www.anywho.com, type in Wisdom R and Beebe AR and you'll get this map and driving directions. I can save it to my computer maybe and post it on my website then link it. Grrrrrr.....

Morning Bruce!! I’m still planning on being in attendance on Saturday. Also, I am still extending an invitation to anyone who

wants to carpool from Ft. Smith or Van Buren area. I can’t make out much from the tiny map that was posted showing the

approximate location of Ron’s place. Any landmarks or mileage references that would be helpful? Thanks, Paul Gandy

(note the 800 number below if that would be better for communications)

If you're heading East on I40: Conway is on I40, and it is where you want to exit to come on to Beebe. I don't know the exit number, but I think it has a sign for Beebe, there, and it is exiting onto Highway 64. Take hwy 64 East to Beebe (about 30 miles). As you come into Beebe, you'll go over an overpass over Hwy 67/167. To get to my house, if you get on 67/167 there, heading north, then you can take exit 31 just a couple of more miles up the road. Take that exit, turn left back over the overpass and go 1 1/2 miles from the overpass. Turn left on Swinging Bridge Road (it doesn't really go to the right). About 1/2 mile, right at the top of the hill, turn right on Wisdom Lane. About 1/4 mile on the left is my house. A log home, set back about 100 yards, with the number 151 on the mailbox.

Jimmie, coming from Memphis: I'd stay on I40 to Lonoke, don't know the exit number. Exit there and keep to the right. You'll be on Hwy 31, in about 20 miles it becomes MAIN STREET in BEEBE, stay on 31 and you'll eventually come to a 4 way stop by the Pizza Hut. Keep going straight and you will cross over the overpass. Keep going 1 1/2 miles and follow the directions above.

Cecil, coming down through Batesville: Keep coming south to Bald Knob and get on 67/167 south, toward Little Rock. Stay on 67/167 until exit 31, then follow directions above.

Anyone coming from Michigan, just head south until you get to Arkansas and find exit 31, then follow directions above.

Arnt, if you're flying in from Norway, tell the pilot to look for exit 31. (there should be room to land between exits 29 and 31). Call about 10 minutes before you land and Bruce and I will try to stop traffic.

Ron

I just want to know what Pete was drinking to cause him to fall off the bridge. I've heard of people falling off the wagon but never falling off the bridge.

Dave, those tornadoes are incredibly powerful. So sad what happened yesterday. I'm currently converting a storm cellar at my cabin into a water filtration house using slow sand filtration. But I'm gonna leave enough room for a dozen humans to squeeze in, just in case. I was planning on keeping it locked though, hmmmm....

Dave, I remember me and my best bud from high school took our own Senior trip to Florida and met some girls on the beach. We were invited back to their farm near Dothan Alabama where one twister hit yesterday. What a memory, oh, and we stayed overnight with that family 37 years ago. The farmer loaded us down with watermelon and cantaloupe for the trip home. Sure brings back memories seeing that town on TV.

I don't know the statistics, but I believe lightening kills more people than tornadoes? Hopefully the NE will be spared today.

I was teaching in Cabot, AR in 1976 when that town was wiped out. In 1999 (IN JANUARY), Beebe was nearly totally destroyed. Our brand new school was levelled. I have much respect for a tornado.

Not supposed to be any tornados in Beebe tomorrow, though.

Hey Ron, That may be why I heard Beebe School on the nightly Arkansas news. They have tornado safe rooms built into the new school. When school is out, those rooms are opened to the public for tornado shelter. What a great use of public funds, double duty.

It's becoming more common here in Tornado Alley to have a concrete safe room in a single family dwelling. I think the walls have to withstand blows from a 4 by 4 fired at it at 150 mph. That would go right through most homes.
